Application
This Anti-MRP8 Antibody/ABCC11, clone 2 is validated for use in Western Blotting for the detection of MRP8/ABCC11.
General description
MRP8/ABCC11 is an interesting protein important in a wide range of cellular processes from bile acid metabolism to ear wax secretion. MRP8/ABCC11 is involved in the ATP-dependent uptake of lipophilic anions, steroid sulfates and various bile acids and plays roles in cAMP and cGMP metabolism as well. MRP8/ABCC11 is a member of the ABC transporter superfamily of proteins. MRP8/ABCC11 is a membrane bound protein and is widely expressed except in kidney, spleen and colon. MRP8/ABCC11 is also expressed in many cancers including breast cancer where it serves as a conformational marker. Interestingly, earwax is a Mendelian trait and can be wet or dry. The Arg-184 allele of MRP8/ABCC11 gene is responsible for dry ear wax (cerumen).
Immunogen
Recombinant protein corresponding to human MRP8/ABCC11.

Format: Purified
Quality
Evaluated by Western Blotting in SK-BR3 cell lysate.
Western Blotting Analysis: 2.0 µg/mL of this antibody detected MRP8/ABCC11 in 10 µg of SK-BR3 cell lysate.
Target description
~170 kDa observed. The calculated molecular weight of this protein is 154 kDa, it has an isoform at 150 kDa and can run higher due to glycosolation. Uncharacterized bands may be observed in some lysates.
